Spinning Reel Report - August 2006
HEY MITCHELL FAN'S----- IN CASE YOU DIDN'T
NOTICE--------
Featured Reel:
Was the
Super Rare Garcia Mitchell 300 1976 Bicentennial RED, WHITE & BLUE in
exc+ condition shown to the right. Funny thing was that after
receiving phone calls and e-mails from Mitchell collectors asking if I
thought if this reel was the REEL DEAL I found out that I must have
been one of the few collectors that had ever seen a pic. of one of
these super rare reels B/4. In my personal opinion it was the REEL
DEAL but apparently some Mitchell collectors did not think so----
after only 10 bids the reel sold @$1781.99
More Mitchell:
Dennis Roberts new book- Mitchell Collectors
Value Guide 1937-2002 Published 2006 Limited First Edition. the book
was # 022 of 100 and sold @$175.88. my question is this--why would
someone pay that price when they could order the book from Dennis for
$60.00?? Note that the first 100 books printed have a pic of a
Mitchell tournament reel on the front cover. the second printing of
the same book has a pic of the first version Mitchell on the front
cover, but I wonder if the bidders knew that?
