Reels:
A New York style
reel in German silver, inscribed with an 1867 date that was attributed
to Edward Vom Hofe, in EX reached $886. It is shown to the right. An
Onion, Haigh & Cornwall ball handle example in German silver and EX
sold for $392. A rare Meisselbach Tournament surf reel #500 in VG
condition sold for $1388.63. A Penn Peer #209 SW level wind with green
end plates and EX in an EX box/papers & tools sold for $185.29. A 450
yard Pflueger Kihoga in VG reached $660. A Pflueger AtlaPac #1660,
6/0, EX in a poor box/papers, bag, etc. sold for $390.88. A Penn 9/0
Senator Demo reel with clear side plates and EX- brought $505.99. A
Taylor big game reel from Australia with 3 spools and EX sold for
$360.95.
A Winchester fly reel #1412 in VG brought $159.03. A
couple of Hardy prototypes, serial numbers 000, with good
documentation didn't sell as well as I expected. a 4/0 Cascapedia that
was mint brought $4300.55 and a Brunswick 1/0, mint in box/case,
reached $3550.55. A nickel plated and hard rubber unmarked Julius vom
Hofe in VG sold for $338.09. A Horton Meek #56 with agate line guide
and marked Abercrombie & Fitch, in VG brought $405. A Cozzone 80 yd
German silver & Bakelite fly reel that was EX in a VG box reached
$887. An 1896 Hardy 4" brass faced Perfect with rod in hand logo and
EX- sold for $1455.
A Marc Indiana
style reel in EX sold for a whopping $504.99. It is pictured to the
left.
Casting reels of interest included a rare Meisselbach Ranger
levelwind reel in VG- that brought $405. A Winchester level wind #4345
in EX sold for $262.53. A Horton Blue Grass #7 in EX reached $431. A
Horton Meek #3 with double knobs and EX sold for $610. A jeweled,
German silver, Shakespeare Classic #23054 in EX reached $360.
More
modern casting reels included an ABU Ambassadeur 5000C, black, 4 screw
and EX with case and tools, which sold for $421.55. A Ambassadeur
Record 5000, dark red, c1953-58 and EX drew 35 bids before topping out
at $1009. An Ambassadeur 5000B, Mint in a Mint box with accessories
brought $233.50
Lures:
As usual, there were some nice Heddon Lures sold. A c1905 green
crackleback 150 Minnow, VG in a VG wooden box, sold for $1425. A 100,
c1908, in rainbow that was EX in a VG wooden box brought $100 less. A
Head-On Basser #8500, green crackleback, and EX in an EX- box sold for
$913. A plastic Big Tiger, white, pink and black in EX sold for $740.
A Heddon Black Sucker #1300, white/green back and VG brought $1800.
Lures by Miscellaneous companies included a Florida made Garland's
Cork-Head Minnow in frog that was G in a VG box that reached $1125.02.
A Florida made articulated Superstrike Shrimp lure in VG topped out at
$493.88. It is shown to the right. A Jim Pfeffer Baby Banana lure,
yellow/red head & spots in VG sold for $391.56. A plastic Makinen
Wonderlure, orange tiger stripe and EX sold for $110.86. A Hastings
Rubber Frog that was EX in a VG box sold for $280. A VG wooden
Arbogast Jitterbug, yellow belly, black back/silver ribs brought
$356.09. An Immell Chippewa 4" Musky bait, VG and Green crackleback,
reached $531.01. A Jos. M. Ness Nifty Minne minnow tube, 6", VG,
brought $571.55.
A Creek Chub Spinning Plunker, yellow/black spots and EX received 32
bids before it sold for $359. A "one of three" Husky Ringed Pikie in
silver flash and NIB sold for $1225. A Tarpon Pike in silver flash, EX
in its box reached $461. A GE Snook Plunker, blue flash and VG sold
for $405.99. A Husky Dinger in Dace and EX sold for $1252.67. A
Spinning Ding Bat in Dace color that was VG+ in a VG box/papers shot
to $1102.88.
A Shakespeare #33 Minnow, white that was VG in a G picture box sold
for $2304. A Waukazoo, W/RH and VG brought $193.49. A Pflueger
Neverfail 3 hook minnow in strawberry spot, EX-, reached $269.69,
while a 5 hook Neverfail in greenback/Y&W and EX sold for $371.
Salmon lures are getting pricier - a Lucky Louie 6" Chinook in yellow
scale and EX in an early VG box brought $371. A Shoff Salmon Plug,
shiner scale and EX- sold for $261.08. Similar, but a Martin Ling Cod
lure, 15" long, red scale and VG brought $342.
Metal baits included a
Pflueger Maybug that was sold twice, since the first buyer failed to
pay. It was very nice and brought $2500. It is at the left. A
Winchester Gold Bug spinner #9671 that was VG and sold for $153.59.
Another Winchester fluted bait #9643 in VG brought $103.59. A VG
Winchester black bass spinner #9463 reached $153.59. Not metal, but
some Winchester trout wet flies (3) on cards in EX sold for $140.27. A
Clayton, NY, G.M. Skinner #2 Turkey Foot spinner in VG brought $405.
Rods:
Rods of interest started with a 3 piece tubular steel Winchester
bait rod that was VG and brought $127.50. An ABU Zoom Diplomot #561,
6' fiberglass casting rod in EX sold for $213.50. A Fenwick Lunkerstik
#2054, 5'6", MH in EX reached $455.88. A fiberglass Silaflex rod with
Featherlight All Angle handle, 6"6", 2/1 and VG sold for $151.50.
A
Leonard Maxwell era lead off the bamboo fly rods. It was 7'6", 2/1,
and in EX condition. It sold for $2500. A Pre-Fire Leonard M38½H,
3/2, in VG reached $1826. A Fred Devine "Rainbow", 9',
3/2, and VG brought $300. An R. L. Winston, 8'4", 2/1, 6 wt, and EX
brought $1225. A Thomas & Thomas Henry's Fork, 8'6", 2/2 and EX sold
for $1688.88, while a Hendrickson model, 8', 3/2 for 6 wt and EX
brought $1883.10. A Heddon #1000 "Rod of Rods", 8'6", 3/2, VG- brought
$1052.
An Orvis bamboo spinning rod, 7'6", 2/1, heavy
action in EX topped out at $247.50.
Miscellaneous Fishing Stuff:
The LeRoy Howell
6.5" flowered fish decoy shown here was in VG and sold for $665. A
Brass & iron spring double hook, patented in 1867, 4.5" and VG sold
for $1282.50.
An Atlantic City Tuna Tournament embossed cigarette
lighter, NIB, sold for $69. An Ulster fish knife with gaff hook and
yellow handles, in EX brought $180.50.
A dry fly oil bottle
with cork stopper, called "EVR-DRI" sold for $104.25. It is pictured
here. A large leather bound creel marked Holby Arms, San Francisco,
and VG sold for $232.50. A B. F. Meek & Sons tackle box in G-VG, but
with all the trays sold for $381.99.
An EX Shakespeare 1940 catalog
brought $110.
A Delaware Non-Resident license badge from 1935 in EX
sold for $995.
A repair kit for Ted Williams (Sears) fishing reels,
with Ted's photo on the box lid in only G condition brought $177.50.
