eBay Report - June 2007
Lots of great lures this month, and prices seem to be holding up
well.
Lures:
As usual, Heddon lures brought some interesting prices. A
collection of Baby Vamps was sold off one at a time and brought very
nice prices. An EX green crackleback example that was EX in a VG box
brought
$1225.77. One
in Frog scale, EX in a VG+ box/papers zoomed to $2278.53. It is shown
to the right. Another in Luminous that was EX in a VG box sold for
$2900. A frog spot example in VG- sold for $1825.
Other Heddon stuff
included a Wilder Dilg in Venables Charmer pattern that was EX in an
EX picture box sold for $588.89. A Crazy Crawler, EX in an EX box, and
in luminous paint brought $536.68. A #901 rainbow Swimming Minnow, VG+
in a VG box/papers, made someone happy at $3207.50. An 0 (ought) in
strawberry spot and EX sold for $430. It had L rig hardware. A c1950
Factory salesman's case with 40 lures that brought $1426.
Vintage
miscellaneous maker lures included a North Channel 3 hook minnow,
white/green back and VG, which sold for $316. A Lloyd Hungry Jack that
was Mint in a VG box and a nice gold scale finish, brought $1775. A
Bender darter type Florida lure that was EX in a VG box, and in
white/RH finish fetched $610. Francois The Frog, Mint in an EX- box,
sold for $565. A single hook Moonlight Pikaroon, perch color?, and EX-
brought $2054.99. A Moonlight Bullhead, frogspot and VG- sold for
$1400. A Leeper Bait BOX ONLY with papers and EX sold for
$717.57. A Detroit Glass Minnow Tube that was EX in a Fair box/papers
brought $999.99.
A VG 3 hook Shakespeare metal minnow in
copper finish was bid to $314.09. A 3 hook rainbow minnow in VG
condition brought $484.09. A South Bend Musky Minnow with red hex
paint and VG sold for $557. A Pflueger Monarch 5 hook Minnow in green
crackleback and EX ended at $481. A Pflueger sea shell pattern
Admiral Spoonbait with frog on blade and EX sold for $1213.
Creek
Chub Bait Company lures started off with a Fly Rod Dingbat, silver
flash and EX in an EX box, for $182.50. An EX surface Dingbat in the
sought after redwing blackbird finish reached $303.75, but another in
white scale and EX topped out at $374.12. An EX- Weed Frog in a VG
marked box sold for $414.09. It was frog finish. A black Sucker that
was EX in and EX- box sold for $820. A 200 Wiggler, solid red, no eye,
and EX- brought $860.
More modern lures are still hot with a plastic
Heddon Magnum
Torpedo
receiving 41 bids before selling for $2555. I don't know the color,
but it is shown to the left. A Bagley Balsa B #BB-1, new in bubble
card in a pretty blue scale reached $717.77. An EX Heddon Plastic
Punkinseed #9630, red head flitter, brought $500.
A red & white
Jack Lloyd Water Witch salmon plug in VG topped out at $338. A Russo
Flap Tail striper plug in green scale paint and EX brought $479. A
pair of Texas Bingo Flash lures, one black & gold with spots in EX-
brought $710 and another in red & gold with spots sold for $708.
Reels:
Older casting reels included a Talbot Premier #3 that was Jeweled
and in EX
condition.
It sold for $1450 and is shown to the right. A Talbot Star in EX sold
for $400. A Talbot #41 with Abercrombie & Fitch stampings in VG sold
for $1225. A Meisselbach free spool Tripart that was EX in an EX box
reached $208.50. A first version Meisselbach Take Apart in German
silver and hard rubber and in VG brought $1125.
More modern casting
reels were led off by a Shakespeare Alpha c1981 in VG+ condition,
which sold for $234.56. An ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 2050, EX in an EX
box/papers and tools reached $235.50. A 2650 Ambassadeur in the same
condition reached $473.99. A Cycloid Micromatic that was Mint in an EX
box/papers brought $213.50.
A Penn Long Beach #68 c1950s that was
NIB/papers topped out at $280.03. A 6/0 Shakespeare Miller Autocrat
that was EX in case brought $515. An unmarked Holzman presentation
surf reel from 1927 that was in a nice case with extra spool garnered
$1500. An unmarked German silver NY reel attributed to Fritz Vom Hofe
in EX- sold for $765.
Fly reels of interest included a Cozzone 60
yard with marbled Bakelite plates. It was
bound in GS and in VG
and sold for $1225. A Rogue that was EX in case, brought
$159.06. A Bogdan salt water fly reel that was in EX condition sold
for $2193. It is shown to the right. Another with black & gold
anodizing, a #0 Salmon fly reel, brought $2280. It had an Abercrombie
& Fitch label and was EX. A Heddon Imperial Model 125R that
was VG in an EX- down leaping bass box brought $330.99.
A Hurd
Supercaster with walnut grips that was EX in its case with instruction
book sold for $321. An Old Pal Reel-Lectric 1000, battery operated
spinning reel that was VG in box brought $202.50.
There is a lot
more activity in Australian fishing reels. A "very large old metal
reel" that looked like a Hardy Fortuna, 6.5" in diameter and VG sold
for $1850. A Dawson Perpetual fly reel, 3-1/8" and EX, sold for $488.
Miscellaneous Fishing Stuff:
A really neat tin
"Pflueger Mumford's Safety Hook & Bait Box" in VG sold for $1803.99.
It was 2.5 x 1.5 inches and is shown to the right.
The AUSTRALIAN
FISHING REELS book by Bob Dunn in VG condition sold for $170.42. An
ABU "Napp Och Nytt" (tight lines) 1950 catalog in VG brought $299. A
Merwin Hulbert & Co. catalog from the 1880s in poor condition reached
$355. An Otto Zwarg Reel Catalog with no date, but early and G-VG
condition sold for $408.87.
An Astoria, OR Salmon Derby license
plate frame in VG sold for $90. A nice Horrocks-Ibbotson advertisement
for the Baspoon No. 330, 12" x 26", framed and VG+ brought $576.66.
Despite being called an "Abercrumbie & Fitch" tackle box of wood "vaneer"
this VG item sold for $405. A G-VG Winchester 12.5" tackle box brought
$210. A Holtzapffel & Co., London fly tying vice of brass and
steel and VG reached $427.
A Heddon Lone Eagle Fishing Kit, missing its
lures and line, o/w VG-EX sold for $480. Three tournament casting
weights, one unmarked, but others marked "NASAC, Chicago, 1925" and "Leonards,
Fort Worth" and all VG brought $162.
A huge old fish spear,
c1850, that was EX brought $1724.99. It is shown here. As is so often
the case another identical spear came up at the end of the month in
similar condition. It sold for $1824.99. A C. Drew & Co.
eel spear #8 of iron and EX sold for $500. A McSwain glass minnow trap
in EX- sold for $187.50. A Dotens Special rectangular floating black
minnow bucket in VG reached $394.
Rods:
A Hardy Bros. Palakona double built steel center spey rod, 18' 8",
3/2, and VG sold for $399. A Winston 8'6", 2/1, 6 wt. fly rod in EX
sold for $725.02. A Heddon Trout Model Peerless #35, 8', 3/2 and EX
brought $869.99. An Edwards Quadrate M42 7'6", 2/2, and EX reached
$1968. A pre-fire Leonard M40 8', 3/2 and VG topped out at $1025. A
Granger Registered Model, #220 of less than 400, 9', 3/2, and EX sold
for $1925. A Shakespeare Premier, 8'6", 3/2 and EX brought $131.38. A
Pezon & Michel Ritz Super Parabolic, 7'8", 2/2 and EX reached $577.77.
A V. L. & A. bait
rod by John Landman, 8', 3/2, trumpet guides, and VG brought $535. A
wooden c1890's combination trout & bass rod, 5/2, 11' trout or 8'6"
bass bait rod in EX condition sold for $430. It is at the right.
An
ivory colored Champion Featherweight rod handle with small plastic
grip and EX sold for $641.
A Harnell M559, 5'8" fiberglass boat rod
in Mint condition sold for $355.
